Senior Championship - Allocation of Places

The provisional allocation of places for the 2003 Laser European Championship is as follows.
Places have been allocated to Districts and Fleets according to their membership at the time of allocation.

In order not to forfeit allocated places Districts and Fleets must have paid their international fees for the 2002 membership year no later than 28 February 2003.
In the event that 2002 fees are not paid by 28 February 2003  any place(s) allocated to that District / Fleet will be withdrawn.

Places for Non - Europeans
Once again, this event is open to non-Europeans as follows:

Any non-European on the ISAF World Sailing Ranking List published 6 months before the start of the Championship may apply to take part in the Senior Championship.  Places will be allocated to the best-placed 20 of those who apply; applications must be received by the International Office before 1 April 2003.

The European Region will have a certain number of wild cards which may be allocated by the European Executive Secretary based on a curriculum vitae submitted by the sailors, or through invitation, initially on quality.  Again, CVs must be must be received by the International Office before 1 April 2003.

Any non-European who wishes take part in the Laser Standard European Championship and European Trophy should inform the International Office as soon as possible.  Places for non-Europeans will be allocated on 1 April 2003, after which sailors will be advised whether or not their application has been successful.

Note: In addition to the above, for the Senior Championship entries are restricted to competitors who are or will be at least 17 years old in the calendar year in which the championship is held: i.e., a competitor for the 2003 Championship must be born in 1986 or earlier.
