Hyères in the southeast of France is a popular tourist destination with a mediterranean flair. Its warm moderate climate makes it an ideal place for sailing all year around.
Hyères will kick of the Europa Cup circuit in 2010 and it is one of the biggest regatta in the Europa Cup calendar, with 350 entries in 2009, and it is here that the 2009 winners will receive their prizes - ILCA awards and of course a brand new sail.

The Club Circolo Velico Lago di Lugano is siuated at the beautiful Lake Lugano in the south of Switzerland. In Lugano there are two types of wind. The Breva wind from the south which is a typically thermal wind that picks up at around 1pm in the afternoon and stays until around 5pm with a strength of 4 to 16 knots. The other  wind type is the Foehn, a strong northerly wind coming down the Alps with a strength of 18 to 40 knots. 
The Lugano regatta is reknown for good racing, a relaxed atmosphere and a good social program. This year, 2 pasta parties and a sailor's dinner are planned.

Winners in the Standard & Radial rigs will be awarded a sail each by the organising club.

The village of Torbole lies on the banks of Lake Garda in Italy. Lake Garda is reknown for its fantastic wind conditions, created by the surrounding landscape which channels the wind. Torbole lies at the foot of Mount Baldo and near the mouth of the River Sarca. Different types of wind blow on Lake Garda, and Torbole is ideally placed to catch the afternoon Ora wind from the south. The Ora wind develops at midday or early afternoon and lasts until early evening.

The town of Scheveningen lies on the Dutch coast and is situated only a 10 minute drive from The Hague. Originally a modest fishing village it is now a popular tourist destination, not least because of the good sea climate and a long sandy beach.

The yacht club Scheveningen, where the Dutch Europa Cup regatta will be held, has been a host to many sailing events over the years, and amongst others, was host to the 2007 World Laser Radial Women's Championship.

The Europa Cup regatta in Warnemünde takes place as part of the Warnemünde Week, a big event on the annual sailing calendar.
The many boat classes represented at this event  attracted almost 2,000 competitors from all over the world and 700,000 spectators in 2009, with 194 entries for the Laser Europa Cup regatta. Warnemünde is on the Baltic sea coast of Germany, 10km north of the hanseatic city of Rostock. The regatta itself takes place at the Marina Mittelmole which boasts excellent facilities such as sail makers, repair services, filling stations, parking, coffeeshops, cafeterias, toilets and showers. The train station and bars and restaurants are only a two minute walk away.
The entry fee will include a free meal, a t-shirt and a disco.

The sailing centre of Warnemünde is situated about 230 kilometres north of Berlin (German capital) and 10 kilometers north of the hanseatic city of Rostock. The nearest international airports are located in Hamburg, Lübeck and Berlin, while the regional airport is called Rostock-Laage and is a 30 minute drive away by car, but public transport is also available. Warnemünde is closely connected with Scandinavia by ferry either to Gedser/Denmark, Trelleborg/Sweden or Helsinki/Finland.
By car: you can use the motorway BAB no A24 Berlin to Hamburg, BAB A19 towards Rostock or from Hamburg / Lübeck you can use the motorway BAB no A20 towards Rostock.
Public transport from Hamburg and Berlin by coach is possible.

Nieuwpoort is situated in the Flanders region of Belgium and lies on the river Izjer. It boasts good weather conditions and south south- westerly breeze which ranges from 5 to 25 knots.
The KYCN yacht club attracted 60 sailors to its Europa Cup regatta in 2009 and will be familiar to many of you as it was the venue of the 2008 European Laser Senior Championships.

Wolfgangsee is the name of the lake where the Austrian Europa Cup regatta will take place. The host club, the Union Yacht Club, is located in St Gilgen on the south-western shore of the lake.
The lake is around 12km long and 2.4km wide and is divided into two parts by a peninsula. The western part of the lake by St. Gilgen is also called the Abersee. St Gilgen itself is one of the oldest Austrian holiday resorts and has a complete tourism infrastructure.
There are good wind conditions and the "Brunnwind" blows constantly with 10 to 30 knots, especially when you bring good weather with you.

Puck is a lively town on Poland's north coast, approximately 60km to the north-west of the historically important city Gdansk. A long spit stretches across the water from the east of Puck, creating a large, partially sheltered bay called Pucka bay around the harbour, making it an ideal venue for safe yet exciting sailing with northern to westerly winds between 10 and 20 knots.

Balatonfüred is a popular resort town on the north shore of the Balaton Lake. Superb water quality and temperatures above 20 degrees celsius from May to September make this is a beautiful spot for sailing. Frequent low pressure weather systems moving into the Carpatian Basin produce strong north westerly winds which blow for three days. Before such a weather change a southerly wind blows for 1day. On sunny and quiet days there is a light termal breeze from the East which gradually moves towards the South East and South.

Moss is a coastal town in the Norwegian county of Østfold in the northern part of th Oslofjord. Moss is a new addition to the Europa Cup circuit and the Moss Yacht Club will be the host of the regatta.

Aabenraa is situated at the head of Aabenraa Fjord on mainland Denmark north of the border to Germany. Originally a fishing village, it grew into a large shipping town in the 18th and 19th century. Despite a modest population of 22,000 inhabitants, Aabenraa boasts the 7th largest harbour in Denmark. The old part of Aabenraa with its cobblestoned streets and preserved houses is especially worth a visit.
The Aabenraa Sejlklub has been hosting the Danish Europa Cup since 2007 and the regatta has steadily grown in number and international attendance. In 2009, 88 sailors attended the Danish Europa Cup from Australia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Poland, Sweden and Switzerland.

Matosinhos is situated to the north of the city Porto on the Portuguese coast. Average wind conditions range from 6 to 17 knots with a north-westerly breeze in fair weather and a south-westerly breeze in rainy conditions.
The Sport Club of Porto is reknown for promoting apres-sail friendship and putting on a good social program with a barbeque on the first day and a social dinner on the second day.
This year the organizers from Sport Club do Porto and the Real Club Nautico de Vigo in Spain are working together to put on a Laser Iberian Tour, which combines the Portuguese regatta from 2nd to 4th October with the Spanish regatta in Vigo from 8th to 10th October.

The host club of the Spanish Europa Cup, the Real Club Náutico de Vigo, lies approximately 150km north of Matosinhos in Portugal.

The weather conditions in Vigo are usually sunny in October with a water temperature of 15 to 20 °C and a north to north-easterly wind that varies from 8 to 18 knots.
This year the organizers from Sport Club do Porto in Portugal and the Real Club Nautico de Vigo are working together to put on a Laser Iberian Tour, which combines the Portuguese regatta from 2nd to 4th October with the Spanish regatta in Vigo from 8th to 10th October.

The Hvar regatta takes place from 28th to 31st December and provides a truly spectacular end to the Europa Cup regatta. With an opening party, a fishing contest followed by a fish supper of the catch and finally a free New Year's Eve party in the town square with live music on top of all the competive sailing in the Adriatic sea, no-one will be left bored.
The wind conditions vary between a south-easterly breeze of 10 to 20 knots and a westerly breeze of 10 to 15 knots. The air temperature in December is around 10 to 15 degrees celsius while the sea temperature settles around 12 to 14 degrees celsius.
