2005 Voting Results and Rule Changes
The following rule changes have been approved and come into force Monday 6 March 2006.
They are incorporated into the new class rules at www.laserinternational.org/rules/ilcarule1 Rule 15(c) be replaced as follows:
The rudder blade and/or rudder head holes may be enlarged up to a maximum diameter of 10mm.
The rudder bolt and bush set may be replaced with a larger diameter bolt to fit this hole.
The bolt head, nut and any washers shall fall within a 20mm diameter circle.
In favour 303 : Against 112 Rule 3(b)ii be replaced as follows:
Control lines shall be of uniform thickness and shall not be tapered except for the purpose
of a splice at the load bearing attachment point.
In favour 295 : Against 193 Rule 14(a) to have the following additional sentence added after the current wording:
"A plastic/rubber tube and/or tape are permitted on the rope handle of the centreboard."
In favour 309 : Against 54 Rule 26(e) be replaced as follows:
"Any flotation equipment (flotation foam blocks or Cubitainer inserts) that is defective or has
been removed shall be replaced by fully air filled, builder supplied, Cubitainer inserts, which
shall have an equal volume to the defective or removed flotation equipment."
In favour 302 : Against 125 Rule 14(d) to be added to as follows:
"One layer of general purpose self adhesive plastic tape (includes duct and gaffer tape) of maximum
2mm thickness and of a maximum size of 30mm x 30mm may be applied to the hull at the top
front corner of the centreboard case."
